Northhold Group have acquired the former Cheshire Cheese public house on Oldham Road in the hub of the vibrant area of Ancoats, Manchester.
The property was purchased from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), in addition to two further parcels of land that were required to unlock the site for redevelopment. The pub has been standing empty for more than a decade and is the final parcel to complete the regeneration of Ancoats.
Planning consent has been granted to demolish the derelict pub and build a modest block of 38 apartments with a mixture of one and two-bed apartments and a retail unit at ground floor level.
