Northhold Group has started work on the redevelopment of the Lord Kitchener Pub in Welling, London, which will be given a new lease of life following its closure in 2018.

The former public house is being converted to provide 19 new homes, a mix of single and two-bedroom apartments, each delivered to a high specification.

ABGI Construction has been appointed as main contractor and is already underway with the internal alteration works. The demolition of an adjacent building as part of the project also began this week.

Vanessa Warbrick, Development Director at Northhold Group, said: “Works are now progressing quickly on the scheme, which is due to complete in Spring 2022. It’s always rewarding to be able to safeguard a building that was once an important focal point for the community. Its redevelopment preserves the building for the future, while providing much-needed new homes for the local community.”
